A sweet little instrumental mixer from Chicago's champion beat smith Thaione Davis (URB Magazine Next 100) — a mellow, trippy, sampledelic instrumental delight from start to finish. A lovely composite of compositions, either long or short, that brush against a variety of borders between hip hop and all other hybrids and bastards of unacknowledged relatives that sprang out the golden era of classic boom bap. With such keen detail to structure, every track pushes the bar of innovation loosely setting the backdrop for the 1950's outfit of an industrial developing Chicagoland area. This is true cosmic fusion, yet there's still a lot of organ asphalt for every true head and music connoisseur. A wise man speaks when he has something to say. A foolish man speaks to say something. Davis decided to remain silent and let the music do the communicating.

about

As an accomplished producer/emcee born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Davis has silently become a vessel in the ... more ranks of hip hop domestic and abroad. With several releases on both sides of the water, Thaione has developed a niche for capturing the many moods and passions of life. Modest by nature, meticulous by trade, Davis thoroughly embodies the essence before an innocence lost. less
